La Demeure des Anges is one of the ten most beautiful private mansions in Mortagne-au-Perche, because it has retained the charm of the bourgeois houses of yesteryear, with its 3.5 m high ceilings, mouldings, interior shutters, period parquet and floor tiles, marble fireplaces, wood panelling, vaulted room and unoverlooked garden.

The reception room

This Fornasetti-themed Italian showroom is where we welcome our visitors. It’s an ideal place to chat and get to know each other. And during their stay, a place to relax with a cup of tea and a good book.

The dining room

One of the centrepieces of our home, with its richly decorated ceiling, adorned at its centre with a very fine rose window.
Its beautiful parquet floor is a composite of ‘fern leaf’ and ‘Versailles’ styles, with a beautiful marquetry pattern of different types of wood in the centre. Its lion’s paw fireplace in Carrara marble, its sublime 3-metre-high solid oak china cabinet and its small sitting room bear witness to the decor of the Napoleon III era.

When the weather doesn’t allow us to enjoy the outside terrace, it’s in this room that our guests enjoy their breakfast in peace and quiet.

The boudoir

This room, upholstered in theatrical red velvet and accessible to our guests, is an ideal place to relax, have tea or read in peace.

Its library contains superb reprints, including the complete works of Jules Verne, with the famous original illustrations published by Hetzel in the 19th century, as well as other adventure stories, true literary odysseys skilfully blending fantasy and scientific discovery.

The bachelor flat

Located on the top floor, this space was converted from the attic and maids’ rooms in 1850.
With a surface area of 80 m² and a ceiling height of 4.75 m, La Garçonnière has been decorated in a ‘So British’ style, with different areas: a lounge area, a bar area, a study, a reading area, a games table…).

The ideal place to relax, read a book, have a drink, play cards, or simply watch a film on the big screen like at the cinema. And the perfect setting for your seminars or, if you’re a presenter, your door-to-door sales meetings or product demonstrations. We look forward to hearing from you!

The crypt of the Angels

The Crypt of the Angels is the oldest part of the residence. Tucked away in the foundations, it dates back to 1750 and houses a summer dining room and lounge, where you can enjoy lunch on hot summer days or organise surprise and unusual dinners.
